Recent Design Loves

Here a a few recent (and some not so recent) design finds that have been bouncing around in my brain as of late. This post is pretty picture heavy, so hopefully you're a visual learner. Here we go...

I can't remember where I first saw this photograph, but I've definitely been eyeing it for a while now. I started following Sharon Montrose a few years ago, and I think I first read about her here. Let's just say it was love at first sight. This recent addition to her collection is no exception. As a UT alum I'm pretty sure I need to own this. It's like homework or something.

And speaking of Texas pride, how awesome would these bad boys look on a styled-up bar cart? Maybe with the longhorn hanging above? TX 4 LYFE.

These cocktail glasses hail from Yellow Hammer Design Shop, and the offerings don't stop there. Check out all these other goodies:

This leopard pillow is a perfect match for my stools.

We know I love me some malachite. And one can never have enough trays.

These splatter plates would look neat mixed with some more traditional blue and white china a la the first few pics in this post. Maybe in a hutch like this?

An Asian theme is starting to take over my apartment (blue & white garden stool, black lacquer Ming armchairs, Asian console table, etc.) so these Fu Dog lamps are probably the last thing I need, but I can't help but admire them from afar.

Love these colorful 5x7 notecards. And as the description says, they would even look great framed!

More TX pride - can't get enough. On sale too!

Put anything on a lucite base and I will buy it. Fact. Lucite is like my kryptonite. Also, they rhyme. #notacoincidence

Moving right along, I am OBSESSSED with this fabric from Tulu Textiles. Want it on a sofa stat.

And there is much much more where that beautiful color explosion came from. Here are some other faves:

And last but not least a few loves from Gray Malin's current One King's Lane collection. I'm running out of wall space, but in the world in which I win the lottery this Sicily beach shot would be massive and framed and hanging above my bed.

Here are some others that caught my eye:

Get 'em while they're hot (and on sale)!

THE END.

Dogs of Instagram

3 weeks since I last posted - YIKES. I think that may be the longest I've ever gone. Let's get back to it, shall we? Since we last "spoke" my most notable life accomplishment has been finishing Felicity. Cue the extreme SADNESS. Let's just say there were a few tears shed at the end. At least I will always have the memories. Please inform me if you know of any post-Felicity support groups in the area...

The upside to completing my Felicity journey was that it forced me to pursue other, more intellectual forms of pre-bedtime entertainment - i.e. reading. Over the fourth of July holiday I ambitiously packed not one but TWO whole books for a four-day vacation. And I am proud to say that I read them both and even picked up a third for the flight home. In my last post I was debating between The Secret Life of Cee Cee Wilkes and Where'd You Go, Bernadette? as my next read. However, since decision-making is for babies I picked 'em both. And I highly recommend.

Since I'm feeling less than inspired today, I will leave you with a collection of PUPPIES (!) I follow on Instagram and think you should follow too. At the rate I'm going, the dogs will soon outnumber the humans. And I'm okay with that. Now I just need to convince one of these sweet pups to follow me back...

Warning: Frenchie heavy!

Up first, a pug AND a bulldog. What more could you ever want??

And a little something for my fellow Frenchie-fites

Daily Puppy's so nice I included it twice

And last but not least, Manny the sink-sleeper who started it all

What's the best book you've read lately? Any other Instapups I should know about? Don't hold out on me...
