TGIFrizzle, y’all! Friday came quickly this week thanks to the new year’s holiday, and I am most thankful for that. What do y’all have planned for the weekend?
I will be babysitting this
little giant spicy chicken nugget, and we will be doing lots of things that aren’t allowed when “dad” is around.
Examples include sleeping in the bed (!!!), watching movies on the sofa, and comparing our feet to see if they are the same size. Answer: yes, they are. And yes, we share shoes.
Tonight I am going to dinner here and will 100% be ordering the taleggio, arugula, pear, and truffle oil pizza because it is my favorite in all the land.
Oh, and shopping the online for some snow gear since I will be going to Jackson Hole in less than a month, and the temperature this morning was NEGATIVE 18 degrees. I don’t even know what that means, but it sounds like something that involves clothes I don’t have. I am thinking one of these for a coat (love the fur!) and possibly these bewtz.

Last but not least I want to make something delicious in my slow cooker because everything I have made thus far has turned out to be amazing and basically zero effort. Kinda like a trip to the DPS! I am thinking a combination of this and this.
Last night I made taco soup using this recipe (sans the salsa and tomato juice), and on Tuesday I made shredded chicken using the recipe below. I made a pound o’ chicken, and it lasted me for three meals (one sandwich and two salads). I think I will make two pounds next time around so it will last me a full week. Watch out, chickens! I’m coming for you.
Crock Pot Shredded Chicken
Combine the following in a slow cooker, stir, and cook on low for 6 hours
- 1 lb boneless chicken breast
- 1 cup chicken stock
- 3 tablespoons seasoning/spices of your choice (i.e. taco seasoning, lemon pepper, Tony Chachere’s, poultry seasoning, etc.)
